The Boy, The Girl, and A Short Conversation

There was a boy,
and there was
this girl.

And there was silence
floating cold in the air.

So he threw a conversation
through the dark of night,
to break the sheer silence
he can not bear
to listen to:

"Tell me the thing
that makes you happy
the most."

"Nothing,"
she said.

"Not a thing?"

"No."

"How can I make you happy, then?"

"You can't..."

(silence...)

"But I'm happy right now,"
she then said.

"Why?" he asked.

"Why not?"

//
Because,
you can not tell
what makes you happy.
You can only tell
what makes you not.

If you say you are happy
because the sky is blue,
and the sun is shining,
and the cool wind is blowing
above the field of green grass,
doesn't that mean
you would not be happy
otherwise?

Don't look for
a reason
to be happy.
Just look,
and be happy.
//

So the silence
back in the air again.
But this time
it last for a very long time
and no one ever wanted
to break it.
